In pursuit of the drive by Government of Ghana to promote trade and investment between the Republic of Ghana and the State of Israel’s private sector, the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Israel in collaboration with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (IFCC) in Israel organized an investment seminar at the offices of the Chamber in April, 2017.

The main objective for initiating such an investment promotion mission was to target the middle-class business categories which were seeking new market opportunities to expand their businesses to Africa and for that matter Ghana, for us to explore and showcase Ghana's unique investment opportunities. This investment mission was expected to serve as concrete steps to promote the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) which could inure to the benefit of Ghana and Israel. It helped to establish business linkage programmes to foster knowledge and commercial linkages between companies in Israel and their counterparts in Ghana in the following areas:

  • Agriculture,

  • Agro-processing

  • Manufacturing

  • ICT

  • Real Estates development

  • Banking and Finance

  • Tourism industries

  • Construction

  • Aviation and many more

Israeli companies which believed in the vision of Ghana were invited to participate in the Seminar and shared knowledge and experience with them, in order to build a strategic partnership in our quest to ensure effective implementation of economic diplomacy which is a cardinal point in our mandate.

The target companies were those already operating in Ghana and those that were intended to invest in Ghana or use the Country as their operating base for operations in the West African sub-region.  Ghana is a democratic and peaceful country.  It is one of the few, very good places for doing business in Africa.  Its people are among the friendliest on the continent and its business laws and environment are the most congenial for the prospective discerning investor and business community as a whole.

It is for this and other reasons that Israeli companies such as STL, Rolider, P2W, EDU, Gilat Communication, Verient Systems, LHB, Elbit Systems, YTS, Netafin, North West Oil and Gas, Dagan and many more have been successful in their operations in Ghana.

The Embassy of Ghana avails itself in playing facilitating role to enable Israeli investors extend their businesses to Ghana. Our country has an enviable comparative advantage in terms of doing business in Africa over its neighbours. Therefore, we are calling on the medium to large Israeli companies to expand their businesses to the West African sub-region, using Ghana as a gateway to the ECOWAS market

The Embassy of Ghana stands ready to embrace IFCC members who wish to seize the moment to join existing Israeli companies benefiting from what Ghana has to offer. This is because the most adventurous Israeli investors in Ghana are reaping very high rates of return by investing in Ghana which is one of the fastest growing economy in the entire world.

This is Ghana’s time for investment, and we are calling the Israeli companies to be part of it because that will be a “win-win game” come, “Think Ghana and Make it Happen”
